All racism is so sad, and should be no part of the debate on Arizona's "papers please" laws or amnesty of Mexican border-crossers. That said, neither idea is a solution because the 2K-mi. U.S.-Mexico border is unsealable, and because the real problem is on the other side, the incurably corrupt Mexican govt. that drives them over seeking a fairer shake and will cause them to recross despite all obstacles. Any real solution requires that govt. to be dissolved. We could do it by military force, but why risk alienating the Mexican people when we can do it with their help in return for full citizenship and the formation of several new U.S. states about the size of Utah, creating new economic zones for all 414 million Americans to chase the Great American Dream?
