and you'll be far better able to handle the problem. Mexican border-crossers are not in the same league as illegal immigrants from dangerous overseas countries such as Yemen, but their sheer numbers swamp the system and overwhelm and confuse the debate, making real reform impossible. Face it, the U.S. has a long legacy of treating Mexicans as inferior people not good enough to live on their side of the border but only to stay long enough to do grunt jobs, and now that their pop. is teeming and their corrupt govt. rides the rich on the backs of the poor so that Carlos Slim can stay the world's richest man, they have no choice but to cross like any of us would do to feed their families with honest labor. Hence, calling them illegal aliens is just b.s. As our next-door neighbors we owe them more consideration, since we have to share the New World with them permanently. The only question is how. The first step should be to help them dissolve their corrupt govt. that enjoys seeming press invisibility in the U.S. with its sweetheart deals with the establishment. The second step should be to help develop Mexico to the same level as the U.S., but that can't be done unless it becomes part of the U.S. with free mobility for all sans passports and dual legal systems and govts., which is the problem now.
