If Only the Problem Were Just Arizona's Bigoted Immigration Law, But It's Bigger and Darker Than That Arizona's anti-immigrant hysteria is another symptom of a political virus that can’t be quarantined and whose cure is as yet unknown.
Sorry, but the U.S. Constitution isn't up for discussion where it requires the president to be a natural-born citizen, and nobody, even Obama is immune, else I guess Ahnuld should declare his candidacy now and shut the Democrats up. As to Arizona's "papers please" law, it's just going to prove an expensive grudge-building merry-go-round since no matter how many Mexicans they lock up and jail, they will all have to be eventually released to the feds, and will likely end up back in the U.S. later since the U.S.-Mexico border is unsealable. Both major parties need to quit chasing the little mice and notice the elephant, the incurably corrupt Mexican govt. that creates the conditions driving them over the border for a fairer shake despite all obstacles, and work to dissolve it. The U.S. can do it militarily, but why create more grudges when the Mexican people are likely to dissolve it themselves in return for a promise of U.S. citizenship for all, turning Mexico into a new U.S. sector, permitting all 414 million Americans to freely travel sans passports.
