Harping on the "Mexican illegals crime problem" while claiming it's not a subterfuge for racism is like doing the same about whites in the Wild West and being an Apache or Navajo. The truth about the U.S. and Mexico is that the U.S. has foisted de facto apartheid on Mexico's brown-skinned people since 1848, and the pretexts are wearing too thin. Meanwhile not only Mexico but its govt. have become too dependent on the U.S. in an unhealthy way, and the govt. has become a near criminal enterprise keeping the rich on the backs of the poor, driving them over the border seeking a fairer shake, only to encounter U.S. racism and double-talk like the "immigrant crime problem". Instead of remaining the Invisible Elephant in the Room, it's time the debate switched to dissolving the Mexican govt. as the first step needed for any true solution.
