IMMIGRATION: Desperate crossings An Arizona journalist, coming here next week, talks about the chaos on the border.
When will the U.S. recognize that the 2K-mi. U.S.-Mexico border is unsealable without bankrupting the country and destroying all remaining civil liberties, and look for another approach? The approach is so simple once it's realized that it's not about all the little mice it's about the elephant, the incurably corrupt Mexican govt. that keeps the rich on top of the poor, driving them over the border despite all obstacles in hopes of a fairer shake. We owe all immigrants a fairer shake, not treatment as criminals, thus any permanent solution requires the Mexican govt. to be dissolved. We could do it by military force, but why not try just inviting the Mexican people to do it in exchange for incorporation in the U.S. as several new states with all granted full citizenship, allowing the border to expand to the oceans where it can finally be controlled, while turning old Mexico into several new vibrant economic zones with Marshall Plan type aid to create the infrastructure to attract mass southward migration, resulting in a bigger better model nation that shares the New World in peace and prosperity? Google Megamerge Dissolution Solution to read my plan showing how it can be done with a bipartisan effort in Congress instead of wasting time on the major parties' non-solutions while the problem continues to fester.
