Open Season on Border Residents by Francesco Canseco
Sounds great. But it would have to be a 1,961-mi. wall, and how many would it take to man it? 10 soldiers per mile, or 100? Times 3 for 3 shifts 24/7/365. Do the math, and get back to reality.
An alternative of manning small sections of wall harkens back to the days of Ancient Rome when each city was walled against barbarians who freely roamed the countryside, and we all know what happened to Ancient Rome after the Huns got their act together and came in on 700K horses at one time.
Luckily, the Mexicans aren't Huns or barbarians, most come not to pillage but to work. Too bad, a few bad apples come with them and give them all a bad name, but the answer still isn't to seal an unsealable border, it's to look on the other side and see why they cross, the incurably corrupt Mexican govt. whose sweetheart deals with the U.S. establishment keep them the Invisible Elephant in the Room. Any real solution has to start with dissolving that govt.. Once done, why not reorganize Mexico as several new U.S. state govts. and accept its people as full citizens, allowing it to turn into new economic zones, a New Calif., New Texas, New Fla. etc., creating millions of new jobs for all 414 million Americans, once their horrible near criminal enterprise govt. is kaput.
