President Obama Prods Republicans in Speech on Comprehensive Immigration Reform With Arizona Law Set to Take Effect, Obama Calls for 'Clear National Standard' and 'Accountability'
What point is Pres. Obama trying to make when he says that deporting Mexicans back over the border would tear at the fabric of this nation because they're already part of the fabric? Making them U.S. citizens would also tear the fabric, because their extended families are still on the other side of the political line on the map, which is why each person legalized ends up bringing several more over, and wanting to bring even more. Meanwhile the real problem of the failed country of Mexico and its totally corrupt govt. continue to fester, making any one-sided solution pure folly. Instead of trying to repeat Republican mistakes of thinking that the border is good, or can be sealed, or that granting citizenship to a percentage of Mexicans solves anything, why doesn't he really lead the U.S. in a bipartisan effort to incorporate Mexico into the U.S. and reorganize its territory as several new U.S. states in a phased manner? See how surprisingly fast it can be done at http://go.to/megamerge
