Sorry, but the feds didn't have to challenge Arizona's papers-please law in court, since it only authorizes police to check people for their federal papers, it doesn't cause Arizona to issue its own papers. A law to check for federal papers leaves the feds in the driver's seat, so what's to challenge? Answer: the feds don't check for their own papers for misguided political reasons, what a sad situation.

Our next-door neighboor Mexico will forever swamp our immigration system and legal system if we let it fester, but the answer is on the other side of the border, namely, the failed country and totally corrupt Mexican govt. Only be eliminating that can the problem be solved, by reorganizing Mexico as a new U.S. sector and letting all Mexicans enjoy U.S. citizenship and no longer have to choose. In return the U.S. will become bigger and more powerful, so what's keeping us?
