Yes, Democrats are hypocrites about the US-Mexico issue, but so are the Republicans. Who do both sides think they're fooling? Each other? :) This issue is too important for partisan politics.
The elephant in the room is the COUNTRY OF MEXICO. Like it or not, Mexicans are here to stay in the New World, but why have two states? It's like a tourniquet on a leg, which starts to fester and create pus. Dealing with the pus is stupid when all that's needed is removing the tourniquet.
Both sides need to get together and agree that the only permanent solution is to INCORPORATE MEXICO INTO THE U.S. AS 10 NEW STATES. After a transition period, the border can come down, and 2-way migration and the power of the free market will develop the new states to the same level as the other 50 for a win-win solution. The only thing that has to go is the ever-corrupt Mexican govt. A bipartisan Congress can make it happen in just years.
No, this isn't about globalism or weakening US borders. The new bigger stronger 60-state US will be able to seal its new coastal borders far better. Turn off your glands and turn on your frontal lobes enough to study the Megamerge Dissolution Solution on my blog:
