With reform talk growing, what is a 'secure' U.S.-Mexico border?
The US-Mexico border has never stopped Mexicans who really want to cross, and never will. If the US economy were booming like in the 1990s, millions would be crossing north and we couldn't stop it.
Get real. THERE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN A US-MEXICAN BORDER. For 150 years the US should have ANNEXED MEXICO as 10 new U.S. states, made it work, and expanded the real U.S. border to the Mexican coasts, where it can finally be sealed. The bigger better 60-state U.S. will be better in every way, and happier. All that underdeveloped land is a monumental waste. It can be developed, but only as part of the U.S., with free migration between all 60 states.
It's not a pipe dream, and it's only MISGUIDED WHITE SUPREMACY that's been stopping it - white supremacy that is just as suicidal as that which tore America apart in the 1860s. The incorporation of Mexico doesn't have to be by conquest, because a bipartisan Congress can invite the Mexican people to join first, and if they ratify it via referendum, the road is clear. The effort will pay for itself because whole new cities will be build on Mexico's coasts, creating a New California and New Florida, with jobs begging.
