It’s a hot potato in Washington, but immigration fervor cools in the states

Why can't the govt. enforce the US-Mexico border against border-crossers? For the same reason that Longshanks couldn't stop them pesky Scots from fighting for their free-ee-ee-dom. The border is unsealable without totally bankrupting the U.S.

When will the people of the U.S. wake up and accept the existence of Mexicans in the New World and end the 200-year de facto apartheid by inviting Mexico to join the U.S. as 10 new states for a New Beginning? I have the 7-step plan all worked out, and maybe 10 people a day even bother looking at it. Meanwhile $100 billion has been wasted on border control that could have found better uses in a 60-state U.S. that could have double the GDP of the 50-state one.
