DW is still stuck on stupid when it comes to the US-Mexico issue. The 150+ million Mexicans on both sides of the current border can't just be made to go poof. The 150+-year apartheid is all-but kaput. A Brownsville Wall stinks the U.S. up, and won't work. Forcing Mexicans to split up their families stinks. Allowing two govts. to fight to control the same territory is ticking time bomb.
The only answer all along is incorporation of Mexico into the U.S. as 10 new states, allowing the border to expand to the Mexican coasts where it can finally be effectively sealed, and taking our lumps with making an E Pluribus Unum out of all 400+ million of us. Yes, white supremacy and English supremacy will have to go, but so what? A 60-state U.S. can be bigger, better, and happier in every way. The 10 new states can finally be developed to the same level as the other 50, creating an economic boom and reducing unemployment to zero. If we don't annex Mexico because of our prejudices, it's already annexing us, with the ever-corrupt Mexican govt. calling the shots instead of us. Right now Congress is putzing around with the Stuck on Stupid Immigration Act that leaves 100+ Mexicans out in the cold, when it could be offering immediate citizenship to any Mexican on either side who pledges to support annexation. The border will go poof, and mass 2-way migration will change the pop. mix everywhere, not just north of the old border.
