This is just another factoid that makes it obvious that the 2K-mi. US-Mexico border is just a line on the map, and totally unsealable. Back in 1848 the U.S. was totally white supremacist, with black slavery etc., so their desire to steal half of Mexico then seal off the rest and erect a wall of apartheid made sense to them, but now it's not only retro and wrong but totally kaput, a collective fantasy that stifles solution of the problem. What is the solution to the US-Mexico problem? Simple. Ask the Mexican people on both sides of the border to scrap their failed country and join the U.S. as 10 new states, allowing the border to expand to the Mexican coasts, and all 400+ million Americans to finally work on the same team as one nation. The more one studies this solution, the better it looks. The U.S. will finally have a sealable border, it will be far more defensible militarily, relations with Latin America will improve greatly, and mass southward migration will develop backward Mexico to the same level as the rest of the U.S., boosting the GDP. In short, a win-win solution. The only things that will have to go are white supremacy, English supremacy, and misguided nationalism on both sides. Our grandchildren will grow up in a 60-state U.S. where the old border is only taught in history classes. I have a bipartisan plan ready on the table for Congress when they wake up and quit wasting time with political maneuvering just for their own gain and see the big picture.
