Stop punting on immigration! There’ll never be a perfect time, so just get it done already
How many votes will Hispanic voters give Democrats? Typical of Saloon to trivialize a momentous issue like the US-Mexico issue and reduce it to partisan politics. I guess all them Hispanics is owned like cattle and like to be told what to do, like same-sex marriage and forcing kids to drop boy-girl for purple penguins. Sorry, but a lot of Hispanics might like the Republican values better in a different scenario.
And there is one. There is only one vote needed, by Mexicans on both sides of the border, and that is to accept the incorporation of Mexico into the U.S, allowing it to be carved up into 10 new U.S. states, expanding the US-Mexico border to the Mexican coasts and giving all 100+ million Mexicans citizenship in exchange for deeding their territory. This would not be amnesty since they're paying for it. The new 60-state U.S. will be bigger, stronger, better, and happier in every way. All other moose hockey solutions dominating Saloon and other writers are so unprofessional, little better than boogers.
The one true solution is lying around waiting for a bipartisan consensus and a plebiscite: The Megamerge Dissolution Solution. Read all about it here, you won't see it mentioned by the PC media anytime soon, because they're too busy wallowing in partisan politics:
