Too bad, but all that "papers please" laws will do is create an expensive grudge-making merry-go-round as Mexican border-crossers are locked up, released, then recross later with better fake IDs. The 2K-mi. U.S.-Mexico border is unsealable, do the math, will it take 10 or 100 soldiers per mile plus enough for 3 shifts, requiring a national draft? Instead of looking for the solution on the U.S. side of the border, we need to start looking to the Mexican side, where the incurably corrupt Mexican govt. rides the rich on the backs of the poor and drives them over the border in the first place in search of a fairer shake. Any real solution will start with dissolving that govt. We could do it by military force but why alienate the Mexican people when we can get them to do it for us in exchange for full citizenship and the formation of several new U.S. states, a New California, New Florida etc., creating new economic zones where all 414 million American can chase the Great American Dream and share the New World in peace and prosperity?
